I’m Samad—a native Houstonian who proudly calls Houston home. I was born and raised here and lived in many pockets of Houston, both in the suburbs and within. Years later, I met Geissel—the love of my life—at the University of Houston. Since then, we’ve spent countless weekends exploring this city together.

Along the way, we’ve discovered so many unique spots—pop-up markets, hidden food gems, local art shows, and music events. But what really stood out to us was how often these amazing events would go unnoticed. There’s so much happening in Houston, yet it can be surprisingly hard to find out what’s actually going on.

That’s why I started Houston Happenings—to help shine a light on the events, small businesses, creatives, and communities that make this city feel so alive.
